Empowering the Mahila Kisan (women farmers) in agriculture by making systematic investments to enhance their participation and productivity, as well as create and sustain their agriculture-based livelihoods. The Mahila Kisans are supported by a strong network of well-trained community cadres called Krishi Sakhis. The focus is to support the women farmers adopting climate-resilient practices, recognize their role in agriculture, transfer new farming techniques, enhance their decision-making ability, address household level food/nutrition security. The Krishi sakhi now they are also into Drone based extension services to the farmers.

To build the capacity of the mahila kisan to be market ready to access a better market for their produce, women-owned enterprises i.e., Producer Companies, Producer Co-operative, producer groups etc. are promoted to support mahila kisans for aggregation, value addition, adoption of suitable technology and marketing.

Various need-based advisories are released by the Ministries to support the field implementers i.e., the mission units to empower mahila kisan to enhance their livelihoods.
