The Department of Rural Development has joined hands with the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD) on 01 September 2021 to support Self Help Groups members through Animal Husbandry and Dairying activities.

Key convergence area under NRLM are :

  • DAHD is providing more employment and entrepreneurship opportunities to the Self Help Group members through different interventions and flagship programs like Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF), Dairy Infrastructure Development Fund (DIDF), National Animal Disease Control Program (NADCP).
  • They decided to use the services of Pashu Sakhi as primary service provider through a new accredited model named as “A-HELP” (Accredited Agent for Health and Extension of Livestock Production).
  • This model to be implemented across the country by using the existing cadre developed under DAY-NRLM for livestock (Pashu Sakhis) by providing further training as A-HELP workers.
