Asha Saket has become a remarkable example of perseverance and self-reliance. She faced the loss of her husband, her journey towards empowerment by joining the Lakshmi Self-Help Group. She took a decisive step towards financial independence by learning handloom weaving through training provided by the Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission. She secured a loan of Rs. 10,000 from her self-help group, which allowed her to purchase a handloom machine and source yarn from a cooperative society in Bharatpur. This venture marked the beginning of her successful journey in handloom weaving.
Her handloom weaving business has not only provided her with a stable income of Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 10,000 per month but has also enabled her to contribute to her community. Asha has risen to the role of a handloom instructor and serves as the vice-president of the handloom society, demonstrating her leadership and dedication.
The assistance she received through these platforms has transformed her life from a state of helplessness to one of self-sufficiency and stability.
