Lakhpati Didi Journey
Chhabil Devi belongs to Kobang village in Pakartanr block. She used to rely on farming for her livelihood. But farming alone was not enough. She faced financial difficulties and struggled to support her family. Chhabil Devi joined the Muskan Self-Help Group. She attended regular meetings and participated in workshops organized by Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS). In these workshops, she learned about different livelihood activities. To improve her income, Chhabil Devi took training from Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI). She then borrowed 15,000 Rs. from her group. With this money, she started goat rearing. Initially, she bought five goats. Now, she has 32 goats. Every year, she sells 4 to 5 goats. This helps her earn a good profit and improve her livelihood. Chhabil believes joining the group has boosted her earnings. Along with farming, she now makes about 1.5 lakh Rs. per year from goat rearing. This additional income has made a big difference in her life and her family’s well-being.
