Bismi coconut oil was started by Laila in 2020, a member of Souparnika Self Help Group in Chaliyar panchayat of Nilambur, an Startup village entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) block of Malappuram district. Due to Corona, Laila’s husband lost his job and ended started having financial crisis in the family. In that situation, she decided to start a coconut oil manufacturing unit by participating in the training held as part of Startup village entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP). All kinds of licenses and registrations were completed and the work was progressing smoothly. She has a monthly income of Rs. 14,000. She was able to achieve the ability to earn more income with the support of a Self Help Group.
