Monika Manohar was working as a worker in a milk society in Njarakkal Panchayat. She expressed her desire to start her own venture in CRP EP and she asked her to think about starting something related to milk, a field in which she is currently experienced. Monika also participated in the triggering meeting held later. Monika participated in General Orientation Training and Entrepreneurship Development Training. CRP EP examined the feasibility of setting up a milk society in the area. The shop was built with the support of the Startup village entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) project at a good location and financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 given from the Project.
In the early days, it was difficult to get milk. But with the help of CRP EP, it was possible to find dairy farmers and collect milk. At present, she also makes milk products including yogurt. CRP EP helps in all matters like licensing and marketing improvement. The said initiative is getting suggestions and support from Block Nodal Society for Enterprise Promotion and Kudumbashree District Mission, Ernakulam. Monika is very grateful that she was able to start her own business and get an income of Rs. 20,000 per month.
