Neelam Devi of Vishanpur Paltu village, Madarna Panchayat, Vaishali district, exemplifies resilience amidst adversity. After her husband’s sudden death, Neelam Devi faced an uncertain future for her children. Then, she joined the Champa Self Help Group in her village. Attending group meetings diligently, she secured a Rs. 10,000 loan from the group and established a small in-house grocery shop.
The shop’s income marked a substantial improvement in their financial situation.. As the income from her grocery shop grew, she invested in two goats and received a buffalo from her brother for rearing. Combining earnings from the grocery shop, buffalo milk sales, and goat rearing, she earns a monthly income of Rs. 12,000. Her resilience and determination shine through, turning challenges into opportunities. Operating a grocery business and raising goats and buffalo. She boosted her family’s annual income to over Rs. 1.40 lakh. Her journey from adversity to success now inspires other women in similar circumstances.
