Smt. Dipika Mahata’s journey epitomizes resilience and entrepreneurial spirit. Starting by learning to prepare Baboi grass rope, she generated a monthly income of around Rs. 6,000. Recognizing the need for a steady year-round income, she diversified her skills, joining a Sal plate molding mill to operate machines.
Evolving from a novice to a skilled operator, Dipika’s capabilities were quickly acknowledged, propelling her into a leadership role, managing the entire mill. Insatiable in her pursuits, she expanded her horizons by cultivating vegetables on a 20-decimal plot, ensuring a continuous supply for her family and surplus for local vendors. Through her multifaceted livelihood activities, Dipika not only secured a monthly income of around 11,000 but also became a testament to the transformative power of learning, adaptability, and determination.
