After joining the Self Help Group, Simran Rawat received training in making different types of jute bags. After receiving training in jute bag making through the Self Help Group, Simran utilized a loan of Rs. 50,000 to establish her own tailoring shop.
Her business gained momentum as she participated in SARAS Fairs and district-level fairs, she also started receiving orders for jute bags from the Forest Department, Animal Husbandry Department and Education Department.
The ownership of the tailoring shop resulted in a monthly income of around Rs. 12,000. Now, Simran Rawat employs five women in her enterprise, each earning a monthly income of Rs. 4,000 to 6,000. Her journey, fueled by the support of the Self-Help Group, has become a shining example of how a modest beginning can lead to a flourishing livelihood.
