Surya Kala is an ambitious woman residing in Achanta village, Achanta Mandal, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh. She comes from a family involved in the furniture manufacturing business, where her father, Satyamnarayana, worked hard to support the family. The community primarily relied on agricultural trading activities and small businesses for their livelihoods. Their family relied solely on her husband’s trading activities and farming in Poduru village.
With her determination and leadership qualities, Surya Kala joined a Self-Help Group named Mahita Self Help Group. Despite these obstacles, Surya Kala’s efforts bore fruit as she successfully handled her business and customers.
Her income averaged around Rs 60,000 per month. However, she encountered difficulties in attracting customers initially. Her entrepreneurship had a profound impact on her life, expanding her market reach and earning respect in the community.
