Titu Mahato belongs to Bhalu village of Purulia district of West Bengal. She joined Namo Bhalu Mahila Samity Self Help Group and after joining the group she received financial support from Self Help Group. She got technical knowledge through the Cluster and Block team. She has two bigha of land with minimum irrigation facilities. She faced challenges in managing activities and starting up due to lack of knowledge and funds. Then she took two subsequent loans of Rs. 24,000 each for starting livestock rearing and agriculture activities. She became technically expert in agriculture farming and animal husbandry after subsequent training received from the department. She started by cultivating indigenous Paddy using organic methods on her own farm and joined the Producer Group for better marketing of Paddy. As her fields flourished with the goodness of organic farming, other members in the village noticed her work. Her current monthly average income is Rs.11,000/-. Her dedication and hard work have not only enhanced her financial status but also inspired many women in the community to pursue similar paths of empowerment.
