Lakhpati Didi Journey :
Asha Kewat, from Handia village in Harda district, transformed her life through sheer determination and hard work. She formed a Self-Help Group, became its president, and started her journey toward financial independence. After receiving sewing training from the RSETI centre, she began sewing uniforms for government schools and later established a home-based sewing business. With a loan from her Self-Help Group, she expanded her livelihood activities to incense stick production, sourcing raw materials from Ujjain and involving her family in the business. Her efforts and dedication earned her the role of a Community Resource Person (CRP) under the Madhya Pradesh Rural Livelihood Mission. Asha’s journey from extreme poverty to self-sufficiency is a testament to her resilience. Once struggling to make ends meet, she now earns a monthly income of Rs. 10,000, enabling her to meet her family’s basic needs comfortably and invest in her children’s education. With her husband’s support, who works as a private driver, Asha has uplifted her family’s financial condition and leads a fulfilling life, setting an inspiring example for others in her community.
