Many of the Women in this village had no regular income and these families worked under distressed conditions.
After some time, Pareshaben was encouraged to form Self Help Groups, undergo training, and undertake gainful employment. This helped them to have a regular income while working from home. During the first year, they restricted savings and internal lending and were satisfied with the unity and cohesiveness among group members. But their aim was self-reliance through gainful employment. Under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) scheme, she has received revolving funds from the government and the Rajkot District Co-Operative Bank granted them a credit limit of Rs. 1 to 5 lakh for her Group to meet working capital requirements. With this fund and taking employment training from NABARD, She has started making a variety of Rexine bags, college bags, and traveling bags: purse, backpack. She is earning Rs. 10,000 per month.
