To increase her family’s income, Smt. Savita Singh decided to purchase an Indian breed of buffalo, for which has taken the loan taken from the Group. She planned to sell milk and dairy products to improve her family’s financial situation. She discussed this with other Groups members and sought advice from experts on how to properly feed and care for the buffalo. She followed the guidelines given by the experts from relevant departments, paying close attention to the nutrition and health of her buffalo.
From the sale of milk, she began earning Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 12,000 per month. With this income, she regularly repays the loan taken from her village organisation.
This story showcases how Savita Singh, through animal husbandry, has not only improved her economic condition but also earned recognition and awards.
