Lakhpati Didi Journey
Simran Rani belongs to Sarrian village of Fazilka district in Punjab and is associated with Nari Shakti Self Help Group. Her husband is a farmer. He usually gets work for a very short period of time, mostly during paddy season. Due to this, the income of the family was very less and uncertain. She has one child whose education has been suffering. She always thought of supporting her family but not able to do because of less skills.
One day, she got to know about Bee Keeping training through Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Ferozepur District. She showed keen interest in the Bee keeping and Honey. She got 15 days training on Beekeeping activities. She was given support of Rs. 20,000/- from Self Help Group to start her enterprise. After that she started enterprise in her village with the help of State Rural Livelihoods Mission.
She started her business very calculatedly with very little inventory with two other members of Self Help Group of Village Chak Palli wala and Sarrian. She worked very hard with two other members of Village. She received good support from her family as well from the department. Currently she is working smoothly and is able to earn an average profit of Rs. 15,000/- per month.
With her dedication and hard work she has set an example for the entire village.
